There are countless studies showing that most people are not satisfied with their jobs. A new study came to light revealing that if you maintain a healthy sexual life you can boost satisfaction and engagement in the workplace!
Sexual intercourse is known to help in the release of dopamine which is a neurotransmitter that controls the “Pleasure” and “Reward” centers of the brain. Sex also prompts the release of Oxytocin, a love hormone that helps in sexual arousal. It is no surprise that sex promotes psychological well-being and can boost mood.
Researchers from US wanted to know how sex can affect a person’s behavior and mood in the workplace. So, they enrolled 150+ married individuals to whom they asked questions twice daily for two weeks. The participants were asked about their sexual engagement at home and their mood and behavior at work the day following sexual intercourse.
The study revealed that those participants who had sex the previous day had more positive mood the following morning. The participants also reported greater job satisfaction and better engagement during their workday. According to the scientists, sex has emotional, social and physiological benefits and a healthy sexual life can help employees stay happy and be more productive in their work.
The scientists tell us that if you bring work at home you are much less likely to have sex and this could lead to poor productivity at work. They advise employers to encourage their employees to completely disengage from work outside of working hours.
